From the street, this basement-entry home looks like a conventional two-storey design.

In fact, the main living areas are all upstairs while the ground floor is largely left unfinished, ready to be converted into a two-bedroom suite.

The designer has incorporated a den at the front of the home, on the entry level, for the owner to use as a home office or private study away from both the upstairs living and the future suite.

The laundry room behind the den can be used as a common area, with access from both the upper and lower level.

A curved stairway leads from the front entrance to the main floor where a skylight brightens the way to the combined living/dining room. This open design allows maximum flexibility for furniture placement while a sloping ceiling and a gas fireplace in the living room create warmth and character.

A boxed out wall in the dining area provides space for a free-standing china cabinet or could be used for a custom-built storage unit. Serving is a breeze from the adjacent kitchen with its modern work island and eating bar, breakfast nook and plenty of counter space.

Featuring a sloping ceiling and central fireplace, the informal family room opens to a large sundeck overlooking the back yard.

The sundeck is also accessed through sliding doors from the master bedroom suite with its elegant five-piece ensuite bathroom, including a raised soaker tub, and roomy walk-in closet.

Bedrooms two and three face the front of the home and share the main three-piece bathroom.

The exterior is shown with faux brick facing around the bottom of the front elevation and on the decorative pillars flanking the covered entry. The front line of the triple car garage is staggered, providing a pleasing look from the street. A door from the garage leads directly into the basement common area.

This design is 51 feet, eight inches wide by 53 feet, four inches deep and has 1,712 square feet of living space on the main level.
